Karamsad Today

Karamsad has a resident population of around 32,000 people and is located in the district of Anand, in central Gujarat on the following coordinates:

Karamsad was the birthplace of one of India’s greatest leaders Sardar Patel, the 1st Home Minister after India gained independence. It is also the home of his elder brother Veer Vithalbahi Pate who was also an important political leader.

A special memorial gardens was opened to celebrate the life of Sardar Patel.

There are many reputable education establishments in Karamsad, such as S.V.Patel High School, C.J.Patel English Medium School and also the Swaminarayan Vidyapith English Medium Residential School.

Karamsad also boasts a large  medical institute called PramukhSwami Medical College, which  hosts undergraduate and post graduate education, this college is known as the best private medical education institute in Gujarat & and one of the oldest in the India.

Originally Karamsad had one English Medium school for both girls and boys. Recently Pramukh Swami opened a residential school for girls on the outskirts of the village called Swaminarayan Vidyapith.
